Flies can be hard to catch as they are very small, and this is especially the case in New Leaf when they fly very fast and erratically. In other games, except for New Leaf, there may be a number of flies around the object which can be caught individually. The fly, Musca domestica, is a common bug that can be found throughout the year, quickly flying around rafflesia, spoiled turnips, or discarded rubbish caught when fishing.
